Nexus ICA HOUSING

helping you feel at home

If you are studying with us at undergraduate level, during the application process you can opt-in to Nexus ICA organised housing.

We have a longstanding relationship with local landlords, who provide us with high quality, local student accommodation.

Nexus ICA undergraduate students are placed in houses with 3-5 other students of the same gender. Our houses are:

  • Terraced or semi-detached.
  • Within a 30 minute walk of Nexus ICA.
  • Fully furnished, including all large items of furniture, white goods, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. Students will need to bring their own bedding (duvet, pillows and linen).

Each student has their own personal room with the following furniture:

  • Bed
  • Wardrobe
  • Chest of drawers
  • Desk and chair

All other areas of the house are shared with fellow housemates. All Nexus ICA accommodation meets fire and safety regulations.

Rent is approximately £345 per month, over a ten and a half month contract (mid-September to end of July) and is payable in advance by standing order. Rent includes water and internet but does not include gas and electricity.

We would advise budgeting the following approximate figures for living costs:

  • £60 per student per month for utilities (gas and electricity)
  • £80 per month for food (this will vary individually)

All students are exempt from paying council tax. The council will be contacted on behalf of our students regarding this.

Housing allocations are assigned at the end of August/beginning of September each year. This is when students will receive specific details of their address and landlord’s contact information.

Landlords will send a copy of tenancy agreement and inventory of the house for students to check before signing. Please note: that the tenancy agreement is between the landlord and the student.

Students move in to accommodation the week before Reception Day. Due to the volume of students, in most cases a schedule will need to be in place with designated move-in times. We ask that you do not make travel arrangements before receiving information from your landlord. If you need to make travel arrangements in advance then please contact us.
