If you are serious about music and worship then there is no better place you could study, whether for one year or to get your degree. Our tailor-made curriculum is built for today’s Christian musician or engineer, read more about the many reasons why Nexus ICA is the place for you below.

Experienced, inspirational tutors

All of our faculty are active professionals, keen, clear communicators, and committed to whole-person care for the student. We want to see you graduate with maturity and purpose as well as academic achievement.

Along with on-site tutors, you’ll also hear from a roster of world-class guest faculty: professional artists, speakers, and industry influencers.

One-to-one tutoring

We believe that you learn best when you know who’s teaching you. That’s why we carve out dedicated time for you to spend with your tutors – both in the lecture room and out. There’ll be one-to-one tutorial time with faculty who are dedicated to helping you reach your goals. So you can start your studies knowing you’ll get the support you’ll need.

You get an iPad. For free.

Nexus ICA is the first higher education institution in the UK to give an iPad to every student. You’ll use it throughout the course – to learn from, take notes on, produce music on, and more. And at the end of your time with us, the iPad is yours to keep. Find out more here.

Amazing masterclasses and performances

Yes. We host visiting artists and bands in our performance hall (which frequently functions as a venue for some of the world’s most talented musicians), who share masterclasses and performances with us. As a student you’ll enjoy unique benefits and discounts, along with the chance to meet and learn from current industry professionals.

Loads of opportunities to perform

Yes. Here are just a few ways:

Christmas production
Sing in front of a live audience, join the pit band, mix, or try your hand at costume design or set construction. Our Christmas production is a highlight in the calendar, drawing sell-out audiences every year – and it focuses on you. Students can also contribute to the soundtrack, with opportunities to write original music.

Check out last year’s student written original soundtrack on Spotify or iTunes!

Real-world performance
As each year ends, we put on a showcase concert featuring every student. This is real-world performance and mixing experience, in front of a paying, public audience. We love these displays of excellence and creativity – they’ll be a highlight of your year, too.

Nexus ICA Gospel Choir
Whatever your instrument specialism, you’ll have the chance to join our award-winning Gospel Choir. They’ve performed at the University Gospel Choir of the Year competition, sung live on radio, and a few members have even shown up on ITV’s The Voice.

And if you love Gospel music but don’t want to join the choir, audition to take a place in our Gospel band, instead.

Incredible opportunities in the industry

We want to give our students more than technical preparation –industry experience is crucial. We’ll prepare you for the world of music beyond education on our courses.

And each year, several students will get the trip-of-a-lifetime to Los Angeles, for the NAMM show (National Association of Music Merchants). They’ll get an inside look at the world of product development, distribution and artist relations, check out the latest gear, hear some mind-blowing performances, and meet musical icons – and, there’ll be time to tour around L.A., too.

A thriving community

Community is a big part of what makes us who we are. You’ll get to take part in events that mark our calendar every year, like our Rag Week – every year, the student body comes together and does something wild to raise money for a variety of causes: climbing the three peaks, cycling to Amsterdam, breaking world records, filming a movie in just one week.

We’re located in Earlsdon, a suburb of Coventry. You’ll find us in the middle of an urban village of expansive parks, Victorian-period properties and a high street packed with diverse, independent businesses. The heart of Nexus is Astoria House, a beautiful 1920s cinema converted into our bespoke teaching facility and live venue, the centre of our thriving community life.

But don’t just take our word for it – see it for yourself. Sign up to one of our Open Days and let us show you why you should study at Nexus ICA.
