After the great success of the 100k Peak District Challenge last year, we will soon be taking part in the Coastal 100! Starting in Cromer, we will be trekking over 100km along the coastline and through the Norfolk Broads over 4 days to end in Lowestoft.

From Monday 17th – Friday 21st of June, our students and staff will be taking part in this epic challenge, but this year we will be raising funds for the amazing work of Betel UK.

Who are BETEL UK?

“Betel UK is an independent Christian charity for men, women and families affected by the hardships that lead to social exclusion, especially homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse and long-term unemployment. Through work, well-being and worship, we restore broken lives.”

Having various connections with Betel, we have seen some of the incredible work they do at their Birmingham hub ‘Anchor Point’.

This is a community outreach and skills-training centre in Birmingham, which addresses the hardships of social exclusion, substance dependencies, family breakdown and unemployment. They achieve this through several businesses, including Infinite Arts, who “inspire and transform people through artistic exploration across the arts by teaching and giving opportunities for growth and self-discovery.”

Renovating housing

At Betel UK, “community leaders and their immediate families live on-site alongside new members forming an integral part of the extended-family atmosphere. This is the Christ-centred community-living model that makes Betel so effective and it is these community houses that are currently in need of support.

Renovations are needed to be done on one of our women’s houses’ leaking roof and draughty windows. Further, there is a larger scale construction project to build more flats on one of our men’s properties. This is to make space for the increasing number of families in our community. We appreciate your heart to support Betel’s ministry and raise funds towards these needs we currently have!”
