"This year's RAG WEEK...
...More significant than ever"

I'm always amazed by how many Alumni talk about Rag week as a highlight of their time at Nexus ICA. On one level this might be surprising, especially because RAG Week is a week of pushing yourself physically whilst also trying to raise money! But the truth is, this is exactly why we do it. There is something so significant about pushing yourself to limits (and beyond) within the context of a supportive community, and giving your time and your effort to something that is not primarily about you, and certainly could not be achieved by yourself alone. Whilst RAG week requires sacrifice, effort and press, we love it because the result is a time where together we learn more about our capacity, and practically experience something of what it means to be a part of the Kingdom of God. Like the church, we together give ourselves to serving and building something that is bigger than ourselves, and serves a greater purpose that benefits generations to come. This year's RAG Week is no different, although in many ways is more significant than ever. As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Nexus ICA, we are also working hard to secure our future after the pandemic. More than ever we need to people to rally around the vision of Nexus ICA and help us continue in the amazing, transformative work God has for us. So if a Nexus ICA student or staff member asks you to sponsor them for RAG Week, please give generously if you can! It will not only encourage them so much, but will help us continue to raise sights, release gifts and resource the church, 25 and beyond. Thank you.

"BRING IT ON!"

Being involved in planning RAG week has been a really enjoyable experience: From helping write kit lists to come up with potential names for our RAG week sheep mascot. I have loved watching it go from an idea to an exciting reality. In addition, I have enjoyed helping organise and participate in a number of RAG training walks, with our walk in the Cotswolds over reading week being a particular highlight. I cannot wait to spend a week walking in the beautiful Peak District with the rest of the Nexus ICA community. Bring it on!
